The Regera has an advanced powertrain like no other car on the planet. The most conventional aspect is the huge 5.0L twin-turbo V8 gas engine, which is backed up fully three electric motors to deliver a mammoth total output of 1,500 horsepower. However, the power meets the rear wheels without passing through a conventional transmission, with the unique Koenigsegg Direct Drive system replacing the weight and inefficiency of an old-style gearbox.
